Amy was living in Brooklyn, New York, when her roommate’s friends from New Mexico -- including Ana -- moved into an apartment next door. They were instantly drawn to each other, even though their relationship was slow to build. Three years later, when Amy was living in Copenhagen, Denmark, and Ana was doing a concert tour in the States, they met up for a weekend at a friend's ranch in Austin, Texas. The night before Amy flew back to Europe, Ana dropped down to her knees and proposed -- making the time they then spent apart pass much more quickly! The Bride

Ana crafted Amy’s engagement ring using her own grandfather’s wedding band, learning how to solder on an anthill garnet, Amy’s birthstone, just for the occasion. The couple legally married in Boston a few weeks before their ceremony -- but the celebration with their friends and family really tied the knot for them on the most important levels. They held their wedding in Silver City, New Mexico, where Ana grew up, because they wanted to share the beauty of the high desert with their friends and family. A simple, white palette with plenty of candles highlighted the landscape’s natural beauty, along with the rustic charm of the opera house and gallery.
